After a COVID-related break, The Hidden Lanes Festival is back for 2021 with a stacked program of free live local music, food, fashion, art and design.
Taking over Winn, Bakery, California and Lucky lanes on Saturday 14 August from 9am ‘til late, this year’s fest also welcomes beloved Valley venues Laruche, Suzie Wong's Good Time Bar, Uh-Oh Spaghetti-O and The Zoo to the fold.
Celebrating everything live and local in the lanes, The Hidden Lanes Festival showcases more than 45 acts across eight stages with Brisbane’s up-and-coming DJs also on the decks for some killer sets.
Headliners include VOIID with the high-energy, punk-rock vibes, local singer-songwriter Connor Brooker (BUGS) with his lush noise pop and Brissie-based Buttercats bringing their soulful disco and R’n’B sound to the d-floor once more.
Rounding out the lineup and crossing music genres, don’t miss local luminaries such as indie rockers Melaleuca, singer-songwriter Fraser Bell and queer popstar Straight Girls, plus Victoria punk rockers THE RIOT, Brissie beatboxer Hope One, indie-folk duo Freight Train Foxes, the reggae-tinged stylings of Lucid Safari and much more.
Sure to get you dancing, 14 of Brisbane’s established and emerging DJs will bring the beats including the likes of Jen-E, Jamie Forson, Flex Cop, Luke Brazier, Chelsea Sharne and Romiindahouse.
You can check out all the music on offer at Winn Lane, Bakery Lane, California Lane, Suzie Wong’s Good Time Bar, Uh-Oh Spaghetti-O, Laruche, The Zoo and Lucky Lane. And if you need a breather, browse the pop-up markets with fashion and beauty buys, gourmet treats, covetable art and design pieces and more.
The Lanes Fortitude Valley boutiques, cafes, restaurants and salons will be open on the day so you can support local businesses and independent artists for a top day out with delicious eats and beats plus one-of-a-kind finds. Did we mention the free entertainment? See you there!
